I have been providing physical therapy services to the Keene Central School District for over 10 years now.  This came about due to a sudden departure of the previous service provider.  Living in the Keene Valley and having my children and husband as a part of the school community helped me to agree to “fill in” for the rest of that particular school year.  I never imagined that I would fall in love with pediatric physical therapy the way that I have.  I had always pursued sports and orthopedic treatment based opportunities prior to this development which I do in my outpatient private practice.  After that first year, there was never any turning back for me.  The kids got me hook, line and sinker.  I have since taken many professional development courses to best support the work that I do with the children of KCS.  I have also gone on to provide physical therapy to two other school districts.

In my role as physical therapist for the school, I assist children that have gross motor developmental delays.  Balance, muscle tone, strength and endurance are all components of gross motor development.  Trunk control provides students with a stable base of support necessary for upright sitting posture.  I love my role here as the school physical therapist and look forward to seeing the children progress through the years.
