Ann Whitney - Co-President

Ann was born and raised in Elizabethtown, NY.  She is married to Reggie and has two daughters, Emily and Hanna.  Ann received an Associates degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Champlain College and worked as the Service Manager at Adirondack Chevrolet in Elizabethtown 1991.

Ann welcomes serving on the KCS Board of Education.  She has always wanted to have the opportunity to be more a part of her children's education.  "I am very proud and supportive of Keene Central School.  It has always been an honor to be a part of KCS.  My husband and I very excited to have our children at KCS with the experienced staff".

Ann has assisted in coaching the Varsity Girls Basketball team.  This has been a wonderful experience for her and she hopes to be able to continue in the future.

"We could not think of a better school or community to raise our family".

John Haverlick - Co-President

John currently lives in Keene Valley with his wife, Debra Whitson and two sons, Justin (12th grade) and Noah (10th grade).  John completed his formal education at Columbia University where he obtained his Master's Degree in Social Work.

"I have worked in the human services field for nearly fifty years, mostly with children and their families.  I am honored to be on the Board of Education and be part of a team that is charged with helping create, guide and monitor how to best support our students to learn, grow and thrive.  I value the exchange of ideas for all key stakeholders that I believe will best foster how we can collectively challenge, nurture and inspire our students to be the best that they can be".

Sheryl Quinn

I was born and raised in Keene and graduated from Keene Central School.
I attended college at SUNY Morrisville and SUNY Plattsburgh and after I graduated I moved back to Keene.  Currently, I work at the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation in Ray Brook.  I have two daughters, Caitlin and Megan, who attend Keene Central School.

I am excited to serve on the Board of Education and being involved in my daughters' education.  I look forward to helping to continue moving KCS forward to ensure that it remains a strong foundation for the youth of our community.

Heather Odell-Fey

I am very excited at the prospect of working with our community to keep Keene Central a model district.  A mother of two young children, Max who is four and Leila who is three, I care deeply about the future of public education.

Born in Saranac Lake, I grew up in Lake George, NY. My husband and I have lived in Keene for eight years.  I received a B.A in French from Plattsburgh State University and my Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from St. Michael’s College in Vermont. I taught English to refugees in the Vermont public school system before teaching French at Lake Placid High School. I currently teach at Little Peaks Preschool.

My purpose in running for the Board of Education is to offer a diverse perspective in forming the district’s vision.   Our children deserve creative solutions that in no way compromise their love of learning and right to benefit from good teaching practices.  I hope to bring a real sense of how state and district policy unfold in the classroom.
