Distance Learning

The Distance Learning classroom at Keene Central School creates “virtual classrooms” by linking students in schools throughout New York State. Students are afforded expanded access to courses not currently offered at the school.

Using two-way television cameras and monitors through real time video, this interactive video/voice network allows for the simultaneous sharing of educational courses and programs between participating schools districts. Through distance learning, students are able to see and interact with teachers and classmates from other schools without leaving the building.

Keene Central School has joined the Saratoga Adirondack Distance Learning Network affording expanded access to high school and college level academic courses for students, staff development opportunities for faculty and staff and learning activities for the community.

The courses offered to students through distance learning vary from year to year. Some of the courses offered at Keene Central School through the Distance Learning Network include:

Pre-Calculus (also for CAP credit)

Civil War

Music History

Astronomy

Music Theory

Music Appreciation

Broadway Performances

Introduction to Psychology

Business Law

Business Ethics
