Computer Aided Design (CAD)

The CAD Lab at Keene Central School was made possible by the High Peaks Education Foundation (2001-2002). It consists of 12 workstations equipped with the following software:

  • DataCad 8
  • Renderize Live
  • Data Cad Estimator
  • CADKey

In the Computer Aided Design course, students become familiar with computer hardware and software, CAD management and CAD language used in industry. Mechanical 2-D, 3-D, multiple part assemblies and full sets of working drawings build on the students drafting skills.

Students who take CAD may decide to pursue an engineering or engineering technology program requiring a two year or four year college degree. In addition students will develop the interpersonal skills, work habits and acquire information that may lead to meaningful employment.
